The Center for Understanding Equity was founded by Dr. Stacy L. Scott to promote the advancement of the study and practice of equity in education.  The Center seeks to activate the capacity of each community member to find equitable solutions to diversity issues that challenge them.  This is initiated by increasing awareness through sharing information and experiential learning about diversity.  It is ultimately accomplished through creating action plans for making diversity a critical part of teaching, learning as well as leading.  The Center’s interventions are tailored to be in tune with the district’s mission and minimally disruptive of school life.
