The Center for Understanding Equity promotes the advancement of the study and practice of equity issues in the community, and seeks to activate the capacity of each community member to find equitable solutions to the diversity issues that challenge them. We are dedicated to building awareness of equity in society and support solutions that cure inequity in its many forms. We support development initiatives that empower individuals and the communities to which they belong to dismantle systems and structures that promote social, political, and economic inequality.
Equity:
Equity is the fair treatment, access, opportunity, and advancement for all people, while at the same time striving to identify and eliminate barriers that have prevented the full participation of some groups.
